SHARING IMAGES

I'm back! Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to post anything over the last couple of weeks (although I have been diligently completing each sennight's little Web 2.0 module - trust me, I'm an honest salt-of-the-earth fellow...). Right, back to the matter at hand, viz. sharing images...

We have been asked to upload an "interesting image" from Flickr (which, incidentally, is a deucedly useful tool / resource). Well, here it is - behold the photograph below:

Not bad, eh what? It was taken by a gentleman named Rafal Malinowski, whose Flickr username is after.design.

Now, assuming that You are not fluent in Polish, You may be wondering what this piece of graffiti/artwork represents and why I selected it. Permit me to elaborate...

It is a mural celebrating the 60th anniversary of my beloved football club, MKS Pogon Szczecin, founded in 1948. The yellow-lettered "Duma Pomorza" translates as "Pride of Pomerania" - Pomerania, naturally, is the region of Poland in which the city of Szczecin is situated. Just out of interest, if You haven't made the connection, the name of this blog is a tribute to the club's badge, which is derived from the heraldic symbol of Szczecin - the griffon.

Right, time to effect an exit. The next post shall deal with the fascinating subject of RSS feeds...

My blog is the direct result of the NSW Public Libraries Learning 2.0 course. I shall be making erudite and devastatingly insightful comments upon the said course during the following weeks. Well, that's enough for the opening offering... Tempus fugit...
